Online reviews help consumers make decisions. When deciding which restaurant to go to, we often compare ratings and reviews on Yelp. When deciding whether to buy something on Amazon, we read what others have said about the product.
Reviews are similar to testimonials in that they validate the product and are a great way to get feedback from customers. People are more likely to try your product or service if they see that others have had a positive experience with it.
Facebook creates a Reviews tab for every local business page. So if you're confident in the quality of your product or service, we recommend you let people post about their experience with your company.
The best reviews are those that have a ring of authenticity about them. If we see a company with only 5-star reviews and notice that many of them say the same generic thing, we may begin to suspect that the reviews are fake. So we recommend against filtering negative reviews, and instead use their feedback to improve your offerings.
Don't be afraid to ask satisfied customers to leave a review on your Facebook page. The more positive reviews on your page, the more customers you'll get, which will generate more reviews!
